Daily Bible Verses 358

God Is Not A Man

Daily Bible Verses 358

God is not a man that he should lie are the words that Balaam said to Balak.

Numbers 23:19-20 King James Version (KJV)

19. God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

20. Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.

My Comments on Daily Bible Verses 358

It is impossible for God to lie. Unlike us God cannot lie. The bible is full of God's promises which He must keep. However God's promises usually have conditions that must be met, i.e. if you do this, I will do that.

Such as, if you don't rob Him, but return tithes and offerings, then He will bless you.

However, the daily bible verses from Numbers 23 are taken from the story of Balaam and Balak, the King of Moab. It was during the 40 years that Moses was leading the Israelites in the wilderness.

Balak was afraid of the Israelites and had asked Balaam to curse them. God told Balaam he could not curse them and to only speak the words He put in his mouth.

In the daily bible verses above, Balaam is explaining to Balak why he cannot curse what God has blessed.

Even in our lives today satan desires to curse us, but he can only do to us what God allows, as in the life of Job.

So put your trust in God, pray for His protection, and blessings on your life.

Daily Bible Verses

Romans 9:22-26 (KJV)

22. What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

23. And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

24. Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

25. As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.

26. And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.
