What is the difference between Satan and Lucifer? Satan is evil and Lucifer was good until...
The Bible states in Ezekiel that God created Lucifer. Lucifer was a beautiful being. He was covered with precious stones, and he could sing.
Ezekiel 28:13 KJV
13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
Lucifer was a covering Cherub, meaning he was one of the two Cherubims that were on either side of the mercy seat in the most holy place / Holy of Holies, in the Heavenly Sanctuary.
The mercy seat was where God’s presence was when he communed with Moses and the High Priest in the Tabernacle in the Wilderness and the Temple in Jerusalem.
Ezekiel 28:14 KJV
14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
Exodus 37:9 KJV
9 And the cherubims spread out their wings on high, and covered with their wings over the mercy seat, with their faces one to another; even to the mercy seatward were the faces of the cherubims.
Exodus 25:22 KJV
22 And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims
Isaiah 14:12-14 KJV
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Lucifer a fallen angel, he is Satan. In Revelation he is called a dragon, a serpent, and the devil. He is a deceiver
He was cast out of heaven to the earth, with a third of the angels that he deceived.
Jesus stated the following -
Luke 10:18 KJV
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Revelation 12:9 KJV
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
The difference between Satan and Lucifer is that Satan was never perfect. Satan was the serpent that deceived Eve in the garden of Eden. He beguiled her.
Genesis 3:1-3, & 13 KJV
1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
13 And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
2 Corinthians 11:3 KJV
3 ... as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty...
The Bible states that Satan the devil is the father of lies.
John 8:44 KJV
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Satan seeks to destroy, he tried to destroy Job, he tried to tempt Jesus to sin.
1 Peter 5:8 KJV
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Revelation 2:10 KJV
10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried;
Lucifer / Satan will burn until he is ashes
Ezekiel 28:18 KJV
18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
