Shall I Be Afraid

Daily bible verses 8

Psalm 27:1 (King James Version)

1. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

With Jesus as our light and salvation we have nothing to fear, but fear itself.

We have nothing to fear. God values us more than many sparrows, and He remembers each sparrow.

Luke 12:6-7 (King James Version)

6. Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

7. But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Jesus has promised us strength for today, and hope for tomorrow. So take Him at His word, and have courage. He has promised not to leave or forsake us. Whatever fears or problems we have let’s give them to Him to deal with.

We can take courage from the story of Elisha and His servant. They were surrounded by a human army, but God’s army was also there to protect them.

2 Kings 6:15-17 (King James Version)

15. And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?

16. And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

17. And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
