Matthew 3:1-2 (King James Version KJV)

1. In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,

2. And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Let’s prepare for the kingdom of heaven now.




Daily bible verses 20
John’s purpose from birth was to get the people ready for Jesus. His work was prophesied by Isaiah (Esaias) long before he was born.

Isaiah 40:3 (King James Version KJV)

3. The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.


Matthew 3:3 (King James Version KJV)

3. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.


Luke 1:17 (King James Version KJV)

17. And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

John taught the people to repent of their sins and be baptized.

Mark 1:4
(King James Version KJV)

4. John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

5. And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.


After Jesus arose from the grave and before his ascension into heaven, He commission to the remaining 11 disciples (Judas killed himself) to preach this gospel.

Mark 16:14-16 (King James Version KJV)

14. Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.

15. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

38. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
